On the day I went to visit my parents, who live next to my sister’s house, I took all my camera gear to give a lesson to my mom and see if there was anything of interest in the area to shoot. Well, what do you know… there was a friend of the family, whom I hadn’t seen since she was around 10 yrs old, at my sisters house watching my niece. This young lady proceeded to tell me that she was about to, or just had, finish/ed high school. So, I offered to do a few spur of the moment graduation portraits with her.

Unfortunately, many of the portraits suffer from lack of an assistant for lighting help, not to mention the overwhelming ambient of the “I took the photo in my yard look.” I know that all these could have been overcome with planning and coordination, but when it’s spur of the moment, you take what you can get. Still, not all was lost. I did get a few decent shots. Such as the one featured above.
